What is the Tax Map?
The Tax Map is a detailed inventory of every parcel of property in the county, utilized by the county auditor for the purpose of taxation.
What is GIS?
GIS or Geographic Information Systems, is a method for tracking items in relation to their spatial location. This creates
an intelligent map, that data for such things as parcel and road information can be displayed relative to their true position in the real world.
Can I use this map with the aerials to define my property lines?
While this map is a representation of the parcels in relation to the real world. The aerials are not as precise. Only a licensed professional surveyor can truly give you the locations of your property lines.
Can I access contours in the interactive map?
Yes. Click on "Views" drop down, "Layers" drop down, click on the box next to "Contours" layer. If the box is greyed out you will need to zoom in until it changes to white to be able to select it.
When I zoom in the aerials become blurry. Is there anything I can do to make it clearer?
When you zoom in on an area to see the current BCEO aerials, click on “Views” drop down, “Layers” drop down, click on the box next to "BCEO Aerials" layer. If the box is greyed out you will need to zoom in until it changes to white to be able to select it.
I would like to email a link to a specific parcel. How can I do that?
Click on a parcel to highlight it, click on "Share" drop down, click on "Email Link." If you have your email set up to be the default email, the link will be embedded in a new message. You can also "Copy to Clipboard" and then paste it into a new email message manually.
Can I print what I see on the screen?
Yes. Click on the "Print" drop down and print the screen to any of the four size sheets. If you would like the parcel number and owner of a specific parcel, click on the parcel to highlight it and then print with the parcel highlighted and it will type the parcel number and owner at the bottom of your print. This action prints a PDF format file that you can download or print.
I am getting too many results on the Parcel Search. Is there a way to limit the results?
If you know the area your parcel is located, zoom in to that area and click on "Search within current viewing area."
Can I find my location?
Clicking the Location button will take you to your current location. If you are not using a device with GPS your location is determined in other methods so it may not be exactly where you are located.
